Frequently asked questions
How do I add GST to a price?
GST amount = price × rate ÷ 100, and the total is the price plus that amount. At 18%, ₹10,000 becomes ₹11,800.
How do I remove GST from a price that includes it?
Divide the GST-inclusive price by (1 + rate ÷ 100) to get the price before GST. At 18%, ₹11,800 is ₹10,000 plus ₹1,800 GST.
What is the difference between CGST, SGST and IGST?
For a sale within one state the GST is split equally into CGST (central) and SGST (state). For a sale between states it is charged as IGST at the full rate.
